The Enchanted Oil Paintings - Underpainting

A Blizzard Creates a Flurry

With the recent blizzard passing through Colorado and more snow on the way, I figured now is the time to start the rough underpainting for a series based off of The Enchanted photos and continue my work on a batch of abstract landscape paintings.

I have always liked painting objects set in mysterious surroundings and figures paired with seemingly odd objects – somewhat poetic and lyrical. The beach ball series should turn out to be darkly funny and romantic even though right now it looks like a tremendous amount of brown and blue. Just a joke.

Similar to the black and white photos taken earlier this year, this series takes cues from French playwrights, Duchamp, Manet and the metaphorical prankster in me. If you are interested in my work, please send a message to the studio.
